Construction of a new wharf for cruise ships in La Baie

The project consisted in constructing a wharf with a total length of 364 meters and a depth of 11 meters, for the berthing and docking of large cruise ships (including the famous Queen Mary 2).

Norda Stelo was mandated to perform the preliminary engineering, followed by the detailed engineering, management and work supervision of this major project.

Highlights

  • Facility with 9 dolphins on large-diameter (110 centimeters) pickets 40 metres deep in heterogeneous soil with lack of rock
  • Five docking dolphins connected by docks of 30 meters by 15 meters, and 4 mooring dolphins at both ends of the wharf, accessible by large aluminum bridges of 35 meters in length
  • Floating 35-metre-long platform in the middle of the wharf, allowing passenger embarkation and disembarkation in all tidal conditions (the amplitude of which can reach 6 meters)
